The Fall Festival is this Saturday from 11-1. Come on down to Taft Homes for food and fun!

If you want to volunteer, please come on down at 9am and we'll get you squared away! We have tons of things to do from games to cooking to hanging out with the folks! We're excited, so you should be too!

No Adopt-A-Block Memorial Day Weekend

Adopt-A-Block will not officially meet on Memorial Day weekend, May 24th. You and your team are welcome to visit your friends at Taft, however, we will not meet in the community center as usual.

Enjoy the long weekend with friends and family!

Computer Class

For about 6 weeks now, a few Taft residents has been taking a computer class led by one of our volunteers. Mr. Mike started the class by teaching the basics of the Microsoft program Excel. Being able to sit in on the classes, I have noticed how much the residents have learned in such a short time! They can do some functions, such as multiplication and division, as well as make charts, graphs, and colorful spreadsheets. For the next couple of weeks, we will be focusing on typing skills. Starting with the home row and stretching out from there.

We've had several youngsters try to come in and learn computer skills as well, so Mr. Mike is starting to develop a program for summer blast. He is looking for fun and educational games so if you have any suggestions please let us know!
